Africa Talent Programme - Applications closed!!!
The Africa Talent Programme (ATP) has been initiated by Wageningen University & Research to give top talents from Africa the opportunity to study towards a PhD or obtain a postdoc position at Wageningen University.
With this programme, Wageningen University aims to attract talented scientists from Africa by offering a 4-year, full-time PhD position or the financial equivalent position of a postdoc (2-3 years).

1. POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW, INSECT FRASS FERTILIZERS AND SOIL HEALTH
icipe seeks to recruit a Postdoctoral Fellow, Insect Frass Fertilizers and Soil Health, to work in the Insects for Food, Feed and Other Uses Programme (INSEFF) of the Environmental Health Theme. The position is tenable in Nairobi at the icipe Duduville campus. This is a two-year contract, renewable subject to continued project needs, funding for the position, and performance of the staff member. A competitive and generous compensation package will be offered to the right candidate for the position. Furthermore, the incumbent will receive paid annual vacation, return airfare for themselves and their dependents to their nominated home base each year, and duty-free privileges. If the successful candidate is appointed from outside Kenya, he or she will be offered support to relocate to the country and settle in Nairobi, Kenya.

2. Seed Grant for New African Principal Investigators (SG-NAPI)
With the support of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), TWAS launches a new programme to strengthen the capacity of African countries lagging in science and technology. The new programme is aimed at young scientists who are getting established in their country or about to return home to an academic position. Under this scheme, grants are awarded to promising high-level research projects in Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Engineering, Information Computer Technology, Mathematics, Medical Sciences and Physics carried out in African countries lagging in science and technology identified by TWAS.

3. JoVE Researcher Innovation Award
Faced with the COVID pandemic, the research and education world has quickly adapted, resulting in a time of great innovation. In response to many unforeseen scenarios, the science community has developed new systems and mechanisms to cope with the flux between at-home research and learning, hybrid environments, and returns to in-person activities.
Traditionally performed in the lab or field, research suddenly going virtual required labs to adjust how they conduct research as well as training. This award will recognize innovative uses of visual resources to conduct research and training, and share knowledge outside of the physical laboratory.
Award Details
JoVE will provide funding, in the form of reimbursement, for professional development up to an amount of $1,500 USD per winner. This funding can be used towards conference participation (whether virtually or in person) and/or course registration related to skill development completed by December 30, 2022.
